Rebecca is a Canadian Arbitrator uniquely qualified to handle complex commercial disputes involving Chinese parties and evidence.

Admitted to practice law in Ontario, Canada in 2006, Rebecca is the Managing Partner of Weintraub Huang LLP, a boutique Toronto law firm dedicated to the arbitration and litigation of complex commercial disputes. 

Raised and educated in China, and since 1994 in Canada, Rebecca is fluently bilingual (English/Mandarin) and exceptionally qualified as an arbitrator for international commercial disputes, especially those involving the Asia Pacific region.   

A highly experienced trial and appellate lawyer, Rebecca appears regularly before the Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario on behalf of business and commercial clients.  

Rebecca was the Lieutenant-Governor Appointee to the Council of Professional Engineers of Ontario, the licensing and regulatory body for over 80,000 professional engineers in Ontario under the Professional Engineers Act.

  1. Canadian Flight Academy Ltd. v. Oshawa (City), 2023 ONSC 1906 (CanLII)
    Unreported decision on an interlocutory injunction motion: Represented a Canadian aviation company in a complex commercial dispute against a local government, with multiple injunction orders and a highly desirable but confidential settlement;

  2. Represented a Chinese investor in defeating claims arising from breach of contract claims in relation to real estate transactions of about $65 million;

  3. IT Haven Inc. v. Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s, London, 2022 ONCA 71 (CanLII)
    Represented an IT company against a global insurance company on coverage issues arising from a substantial lawsuit in California, with successful outcomes at both levels of the court in Ontario;

  4. Represented a multi-national solar company in a joint venture dispute and facilitated an amicable re-distribution of more than 100 government-issued renewable energy projects; and

  5. Hunt v. Stassen, 2019 ONSC 4466 (CanLII)
    Represented a minority shareholder in an oppression proceeding and obtained a satisfactory buy-out of shares by the majority shareholders.
